October 28, 2016 was the annual special day for St. Jude National Shrine at San Miguel, Manila since it was the feast day of the patron himself St. Jude Thaddeus, popular among our people as "the patron saint of hopeless cases."
However, in his homily as the main celebrant, Bp. Teodoro Bacani would like the saint to be even more highly remembered as "God's bearer of mercy." a most timely suggestion on this year of mercy. Bp. Bacani, D.D., was assisted by Fr. Lino Nicasio, SVD, the parish priest, Fr. Arlindo Dias, SVD, general visitator to PHC, Fr. Nielo Cantilado, SVD, Provincial Superior and more than 50 members of the clergy, SVDs and diocesans.
The feast was attended by hundreds of devotees, at the head of which was the parish priest, whose apostolate with the Filipino Chinese community is among the most solid and successful nationwide.
